According to ASCM, flexibility is determines how flexible an individual is such as: age, sex, joint structure, and physical activity level. Participating in a regular stretching program will keep your muscles loose and functional.

How often should you stretch?

It is recommended that you stretch a minimum of 10 minutes 2 or 3 days a week. This is usually done during exercise warm up or cool down phases.

The intensity of your stretches should be to the point of mild discomfort, not hurting. You can gradually increase the range of motion as your muscle gets more flexible.

The time should be at least 10 minutes to make sure you are targeting all of the muscle groups.
